Create a Family Website for free
Welcome. If you've wanted to create a website for your family or genealogical pursuits you've come to the right place. We're still under development... specifically we're using the most recent updates to the Community Architect shared web hosting platform and offering a flavor of them geared toward serving those with genealogy and heraldry interests.It's unclear at this point how well this interest will mesh with the slight deviations from the CA tool set, however if you are willing to take a shot with us, we'll provide a free offering to accommodate you (so you aren't out any money if you later decide this isn't going to work for you).
Please note: CA appears to be predicated on three monetization principles. First, upgrade paths to get rid of banners and certain advertising as well as providing a tiered feature set increasing with price. Second, to serve advertising on free sites. And, third to communicate via email to aid in the first and second objectives. I just wanted to state this outright in order to set expectations. Heraldry's objectives differ slightly in that our primary objective is to provide you as a user with tools, web space, and a publicly accessible address (URL) that you can use to provide access to your friends, family, interest groups, etc. If you are new to the web keep in mind that it's a public forum, if you want to make your information private, you'll need to take some steps to do so. Ultimately you are responsible for what information you choose to share, and we caution that you choose not to share any information that might put you at risk for identity theft -- refer to standard genealogical practices regarding the living for further information about what is considered safe to share.
